Kealia Resort Improvement Project: Notice of Resurfacing of Outdoor Areas

If you have booked Kealia Resort, or plan to, between September 30, 2024 through October 18, 2024, we have been advised of an improvement project at the resort, as detailed below. If you have already booked, our staff will reach out with a discount, or help you rebook later or elsewhere if you choose. If you are considering booking during the construction time period, the discount will already be applied during this time period when booking. Work is planned during the day. Contractors will try and address pool and bbq area first, but these areas and others will be closed for a time.

We welcome your stay  during this brief outdoor construction period, but no other compensation will be offered once you have begun your stay.

Aloha all,

We are pleased to advise that we have finalized the details to complete the resurfacing of the following areas:

1)Pool Deck

2)Walkway path from the building to the beach.

3)BBQ Area Concrete Pad.

4)The beachside stairwell at the 05 stack from the main floor to the 4th floor.

5)The portion of the 09 Stack stairwell from the upper parking lot to the lower garage.

We have picked these dates as this has historically been the quietest time.

The project will at times be quite disruptive to owners and visitors during the day. The project will involve grinding all of the concrete surfaces in these areas and this will be the noisiest portion of the project. The company will try and complete this portion for all areas at the same time to reduce the number of days that grinding will take place. After grinding the work involves repairing all cracks (more grinding) and then on to the application of the water sealers and surface finish.

During the project we will be blocking all these areas to traffic. This means there will be no pool or BBQ use. Stairwell access will be available at the 01 stack and the 09 stack to the main level. Access to the beachfront will be by way of the stairs outside the mailboxes and the rental office.

While the pool and BBQ area will be closed we are going to try and reduce the time they are by finishing these areas first.

We will have signage up during the project to keep owners and guests aware of what is going on and signs on how to access areas.
