This condo has gorgeous views and is conveniently located and central to other areas of the island. We had a great trip to Maui!

Our stay at Kealia 203 was a relaxing and fun time. You can’t beat the location. The suite itself is in need of some TLC. It could use more colour in the living area, and upgrading of small appliances. We heard that the room was getting a paint job in the near future. The Keurig coffee machine only liked to work part time. In the dresser, the bottom drawer will fall right in. Also, we were disappointed that a desk, advertised, was not available in the bedroom and there was a futon in it’s place. The window screens were very dusty, as were the drapes, especially in the bedroom. We suggest the installation of a safe would be highly appreciated. A couple of other issues were quickly and pleasantly handled by Sherry. Thank you!

OVERALL: From 9/20/2023-9/24/2023 in room 203, I enjoyed my stay despite minor disruptions that were resolved during the stay (faulty bathroom vanity light, broken coffee maker, etc.). Our unit was on the second floor overlooking the pool and beach. The views could be seen from the front door, through the kitchen and the living room/dining room. I appreciated the white kitchen and organization updates in the kitchen (esp the drawer and cabinet pull-outs). I liked that the bedroom had a large window view of the ocean and trees. It was very convenient that the unit had its own beach towels, beach chairs (with straps as an attached backpack), umbrellas, and small cooler that we took to the local beaches including the one right outside. Once we touched base with the front desk manager, she was a fount of great information and recommendations. The bedroom was large, had a window with a view of the trees and ocean (it also had a camera that looks right into the bedroom so could that be changed please?) and had a futon in the sitting area (for extra sleeping spaces - good idea).
CONS: Cleanliness was not up to par. I swept the entire unit within hours of arrival and found dirt (not just sand) on the floor). I handwashed the few plates, mugs, classes and silverware we did use before using them as they seemed dirty/spotty; I handwashed them afterwards. I did not use the dishwasher while there. The bathroom was clean. Although not all the dresser's drawers worked, there was still enough space to unpack some items and the bedroom was clean. The only other downside was that the bedroom mattress was very uncomfortable. We could feel the springs through it so it's time to replace that. Otherwise, everything else was great.

Pool closure banning kids due to a rude and disrespectful group put a damper on our trip. Pool and beach were great. Not great AC or fans. It was very hot. Basic amenities in the room and no replenishing of basics such as toilet paper which we ran out of and were told to buy our own. Nice time, but we won’t be back.

No one answered the emergency phone number. We had to leave the rental car in the space because it wouldn't start. We left for the airport but couldn't notify anyone because no one answered the phone.

Kealia Resort #203 is a gem... a beautiful & comfortable home away from home! Everything you need is waiting for you. Sleep peacefully on a king-size bed, relax watching the swaying palm trees & the ocean from the lanai, living room & kitchen. An instant exhale. Take the elevator or a quick set of stairs to the pool and Sugar Beach, or BBQ at the oceanfront grills. During this trip we discovered sweeping views & amazing menu at Ocean Organic Farm & Distillery in Kula, a short 20-minute drive - next to Surfing Goat Dairy). Do not miss the toasted coconut or lilikoi malasadas & key lime pie at Sugar Beach Bake Shop (a quick 10-minute walk) are out of this world! Thanks, Sherry for the recommendation! A wonderful stay. Very clean and well maintained condo. Beautiful view of the ocean and beach. Saw many whales right from the balcony. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking and eating.

My sister and I stayed here in March. Our view from the balcony was awesome! The condo was an a central location to everything and not long of a drive to other parts of the island. As others have described the condo needs an update/renovation as the building is rundown, we didn’t mind much as we were always out and about. We appreciated the beach chairs, umbrellas, pool noodles, and cooler you could use. We didn’t swim at this beach as it had a high tide. Check-in was easy and the manager was very responsive with any questions. We enjoyed our stay but for the condition of the condos not sure if we would stay here again unless they are renovated.

The condo unit was very clean and well supplied. We enjoyed the facility however the trade winds from the NE are funneled btwn the 2 mountains and channeled thru this beach area. This seems to be a function of its location not anything to do with comfortable resort. Great views of the ocean with whales breaching and tailing. We enjoyed our stay.

As always, Kealia Resort did not disappoint. A safe, clean beachfront property; easy to get to and in a location that makes it easy to travel to the different beautiful places in Maui. My third time there and would return.

Great find
Beautiful location, small, intimate and comfortable resort. Beautifully maintained grounds. Condo was clean and well appointed for guests. Appliances are a bit dated but in good working order. Furniture was very comfortable. Views were spectacular! Waves were lovely to listen to both day and night. Beach was soft, perfect for long walks, no rocks or shells.

The VRBO description indicates this is a newly renovated, luxury unit. I'll describe some of the features, you can decide for yourself if this is a luxury unit. The marketing photos are shot with a fisheye lens. Upon entering the unit you're shocked to see how much smaller the unit is than visualized from the photos. The white track light canisters have yellowed in the last three decades of use. The white bedroom curtains are stained yellow, apparently from rain exposure. Floors are a pale tile that really makes the dirty grout pop-out and reaches it's highest level of grunge where it meets the shower and morphs into different shades of brown and black. Using the toilet requires nimble feet and skinny legs as you squeeze in while shutting the door. New twist using a bar sink for the bathroom sink, did I mention the unit is tiny? Pots and pans have long ago lost the non-stick and most aren't usable. No avenue of recourse, the manager Sherry informed my wife the contract can't be broken, all the other units are the same and she was just nit-picking! Market the unit for what it is, the adjectives luxury and newly renovated don't fit. For all the shortcomings of the unit, the grounds are nicely kept and you are right on one of the nicest sections of beach in Maui.

We were very pleased with every aspect of our Maui rental. Sherry was awesome, the grounds and the unit we stayed in were immaculate. The unit was well supplied with everything anyone could need, including beach chairs, beach towels, cooler and binoculars. Kealia Resort is located so that the afternoon trade winds are mostly blocked by the condo complex, making sitting and watching the wonderful beach sunsets very enjoyable . Sugar beach was terrific.... Sandy, with lots of room to explore and walk. The gal that took care of the pool and grounds was up early and kept everything clean and well cared for. We loved staying at Kealia Resort and will highly recommend this to our friends and family. Thank you, especially Sherry. Mahalo!

Have been to the Kealia resort before and always love it. It is definitely our favorite place to stay on Maui. The beach is spectacular but not crowded like some are. Walking on the beach is one of our favorite things to do. It is close to Maalaea harbor so very convenient for fishing or snorkeling trips. Also close to shops, restaurants, and grocery stores in Kehei. Housekeeping was a surprise this time. Some dishes in cabinet were still dirty and the area rugs and bathroom rugs were pretty old, dirty, dingy looking. The bathroom could have been cleaned better. But I would definitely come back here again. You just can’t beat the beach here.

Had a fantastic short trip to Maui and was able to get into a condo at Kealia Resort. Great central location that allowed easy access to Wailea, Kapalua and Kahului. The condo had all the amenities that you needed in the kitchen as well as for the beach. Great views, loved sleeping with the patio door and windows open to hear the crashing of the waves.

Great Maui vacation at the Kealia

The location of the condo couldn’t be better. The accommodations are basic and functional, and could probably use a few minor updates.

This is our 3rd stay at Kealia and our second in unit 203. We love this unit for its beautiful view of the ocean, the sounds of the ocean waves overnight and that you can just walk right out to the beach! The unit was clean, well maintained and had all the amenities we needed. We highly recommend a stay in unit 203.

Loved my time there!
I love staying at the Kealia, it's always such a peaceful beautiful vacation! I loved watching the whales play with their calves on the horizon and walking the beach each morning & evening. Nothing beats going to sleep to the sound of waves on the shore, especially when you live in a landlocked state.
