Kuleana Resort 416

Fantastic stay at one of the best located units on the property. Place was spotless when we arrived. The promise of “coffee starter kit” wasn’t there but did come the next day when I called, along with dinner plates which were absent. Would have been nice to have more than 2 beach towels (unit apparently sleeps 4, so would think there’d be four) but having a washer and dryer in the unit (bonus!) would have remedied the issue if it bothered us too much. Views from deck are outstanding. Side window is excellent allowing light and breeze into the unit. Bathroom could use updating. Overall, amazing place and would go back in a heartbeat.

Nice place to stay if you want a relaxing vacation. This is a great location with a nice small private beach to turtle watch, paddle board, snorkel or swim.
Professional staff, everyone was very nice! My only complaint was that the unit was very hot in the afternoons. The sun shines directly into the unit and there are no drapes, or darkening shade- So, if you have to be inside during the day, make it a quick stop! Super comfortable bed and there is a swamp cooler in the bedroom which worked well at night.

We have been staying in Maui for over 30 years and have stayed in numerous condos. On the positive side, the view was excellent and the barbecues were very well maintained. Security is excellent. On the negative side, the condo in in desperate need of major updating. The furniture and appliances are old, beat-up and below expectations at this price. The cleanliness was slightly below average (everything felt “greasy”). Bed was adequate. Manager was non responsive about the non-functioning electric blind.

There were ants in the kitchen drawer and bathroom sink. Also there was sewer gas odor on two different occassions.

We really enjoyed our stay. We had beautiful sunsets with a great oceanfront view. Just a short walk to the beach. We could see Sea Turtles Feeding near the rocks outside the Condo. Ample parking and felt very safe with the gated community. Easy drive to many restaurants and shopping. We would rent this unit again.

Amazing property! Clean, comfortable, beautiful view with full ocean front deck, grounds are beautifully kept, pool is large and clean, central location, will definitely stay again!

This is my 3rd stay at Kuleana and it was so beautiful. Our condo was a bit of a cluster - no ones fault, just bad luck. The refrigerator broke so they had to put us in a different unit on our first few nights and then we moved back to our original unit. The fridge was still not working so we had to use an ice chest. Hokulani at the front desk was soooo helpful and professional and awesome - they have a gem with her and I hope they appreciate her!! Over all the unit is really cute and great views. It’s such a magical area and great property. I highly recommend staying here.

This is the 3rd time we have visited Kuleana and stayed in #416, the last time being about 10 years ago. We love the property which is very beautiful and well maintained. We also love #416 for the views on two sides of the condo. However, the condo appeared to be in need of some TLC and is definitely showing it's wear and tear. Also, we had to buy toilet paper and Kleenex as those that were supplied were cheap and like sandpaper. There was only one spare roll of paper towels in the kitchen and one spare trash bag for the kitchen trash can and half a bottle of dish detergent(very small bottle). Very sparce supplies considering we stayed for 2 weeks and for what is being charged per night.

Kuleana is just amazing. This unit is probably one of the best. We had a great stay for 6 nights. The unit gets a bit hot in the evenings, but pull the curtain shade before you leave for the day! I only wish they had furnished the kitchen with some basic supplies such as pepper/salt/coffee/sugar/cooking oil. Overall, we had some of this best times in this unit.

We've stayed in this unit four times in 8 years, and love it! (One of us has been staying at Kuleana since1986). Kitchen equipment could use some upgrades: pans and sharp utility knives please! Otherwise, a wonderful place!

We loved this little condo, small but perfect for two. The location was simply gorgeous, best view in the island. Would highly recommend. Walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops. Beautiful quiet beach and lovely pool. The property is older but very clean and well maintained.

The condo could use updates. Shower head, refrigerator, needs a makeover. But location, location. Location! Perfect view, wonderful breezes. Easy access! Spent every evening watching the sun set on the lanai.

This complex was just wonderful. We only stayed two days in this unit as the other owners unit we were staying in at unit 201 had a double booking, so we were more than happy to relocate for them do to them having a larger party. 201 is a spectacular unit, recently redone and is a two bedroom with loft was very fun. This one bedroom unit 416 that the owner of 201 relocated us too at their expense was lovely as well and had a gorgeous ocean front view. It was also nicely decorated as well. Both places we were thrilled with especially the complex as it was just breathtaking and very maintained. Mahalo to Troy at unit 201 and Destination Maui for letting Troy relocate us into one of their units. Bravo to both for making it an easy transition.

Second stay at this resort. 416 unit provided excellent views of sunset, whale watching, turtle watching from lanai. Unit was a bit warm during the afternoons due to sun beating, no matter what we tried. AC in bedroom welcome relief. Property kept in excellent shape. Covid restrictions a bit excessive by some of the staff including pool restrictions- 10 people and only 4 lounge' 6 chairs out; but everywhere has limitations currently. No sand/beach made difficult to snorkel. Staff very helpful when needed. Would recommend staying here again; unit location great, but again, gets hot in this unit in afternoon sun, patio chair broken, also beach chair broken; unit needs updating and recommend new dishes that are microwave safe, without chips; blender cover missing center plug also.
