Kuleana Resort 716

We stayed for 2 weeks and could not have asked for a better experience. Great location, great beach and great restaurants. Absolutely gorgeous views and tons of whales to be seen from the resort.

We had a wonderful time, used the grills on the property for many meals.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the property is the best beach access (in our opinion) on Maui. Only thing we didn’t have in our condo were grill supplies, other than that it was fully stocked. We were only a 5 minute drive to grocery store and dining as well. Highly recommend this place!

We loved the location of this unit. As always, the grounds and pool here are meticulously maintained. The property is very quiet and laid back. We watched whales and turtles from our balcony every morning! We appreciated the beach chairs to take on our snorkeling trips, Kapalua Bay and Airport Beach were great! We do miss the beach that used to be in front of the condos, it’s just rocks now. But again, the view is amazing! We would definitely stay in this unit again!

We had a pleasant and enjoyable stay in this condo. The view of the beach from the balcony was amazing - it felt like we were in a private beach. The unit had everything we needed. Just a couple of things that could have been improved: The airconditioner in the bedroom was a little loud, and wished there was a path to the beach access on the side of the building where this unit is located instead of having to go around. Other than these, things were great!

The perfect beachfront view to wake up to and watching the sunset! The condo has everything you need, clean, quiet, a view! I would definitely come back again!

This oceanfront condo unit 716 and the resort property are both beautifully located. Both are well maintained and clean. It was nice to have the beach so close! The views are awesome! And, the resort pathways have beautifully maintained gardens that lead to a well kept gated pool. I was worried about ants from reading another review prior to visiting, but we had no absolutely no issues with ants or bugs. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need, except spices, and the beds are comfy. The staff are great! The bedroom wood sliding door could use some updating. It kept coming off the hinges and was kind of annoying, however, we didn't let that ruin our lovely vacation. Overall we enjoyed our stay here very much and would definitely come again!

The front door, stairs tot the room and the room itself are very worn and old looking, no end table or place to set a beverage if siting on the couch and watching TV. Room furnishings are not placed well. Definitely needs of an update, especially the bedroom. Everything is just old and tired, kind of dirty looking. I had reserved another room but was bumped to this one.

This unit was very comfortable for our family of three. Basic amenities but incredible view. The complex overall is quiet and the beach is great! The unit came supplied with two well loved beach chairs, two boogie boards and two beach towels but you may want to bring or buy a few more as they may not dry overnight.

We had an excellent week staying at Kuleana Resort. The location was perfect. Hearing the waves crash against the shore was heavenly. The beach wasn’t too crowded and the guests/owners were all welcoming. The condo has a nice breeze that flows through. The air conditioner helped us to sleep comfortably and we didn’t notice any traffic noise. The condo was clean and all questions were answered with a smile by the staff. I will definitely come back.

The condo was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked (needed salt & pepper), air conditioning worked extremely well,the shower was a great size, the location was overlooking the beach and we watched the surf and turtles.Able to catch the city bus to towns north and south or walk south to the little town. The grounds were lovely and we loved the heated pool. It really was outstanding and quite frankly, we can be hard to please. We did complain to each other that the television was too small...maybe we're just spoiled.

This was our second stay at Kuleana. We love the gated property with private access to the beach and snorkeling. The snorkeling is fantastic. The unit is simple, but it has everything you need for comfort and relaxation. It is clean and updated. The air conditioner in the bedroom is loud, but it was very nice to cool down the room before going to bed. The fan kept it cool enough thru the night. We enjoyed meals on the lanai. Kitchen is stacked. We enjoyed the lawn chairs provided for sunsets on the lawn outside. The king bed is very comfortable. My mom slept on the fold out couch and she reported sleeping very well, enjoying the ocean sounds. We saw lots of turtles right outside feeding along the lava rocks. Beautiful birds too and my favorite plumeria tree. Neighbors are considerate and it is a very quiet place. We love it!!!

Arrived and fridge was dirty. Furniture is outdated and uncomfortable (no foot rests or side tables for tiny couch to make it more comfortable). Bed was hard and pillows were microscopic. Location of unit close to road, but luckily white noise from air conditioning cancelled out road noise at night.

Ocean front property with great beach/ocean view from kitchen/living room. Beach steps away. Could really use some TLC like new indoor paint, more powerful exhaust fan to remove some shower mold.

The good: The condo community, grounds, and view from the lanai were great.
The bad: The condo backs to the road. The condo listing boasts that it is updated, I’d say the kitchen has seen a makeover, the rest is lacking user friendly amenities.
The ugly: Ants, and something that may not be ants, never could identify the small swirling bugs in the sinks, kitchen, and on the beds. I wore socks and flip flops everywhere, only flip flops in the shower. Not bed bugs, but bugs. And, large gold ants that made every night time lanai experience uncomfortable. I was unhappy every night I spent in this condo, but welcomed the daylight which allowed us to be outside and on the patio to observe morning rainbows, turtles, and snorkelers.

Had a great experience. Room is as described online.
Location was perfect.
Only suggestion would be to have an extra fan in living room and would suggest to owner to have some sort of blinds installed on front sliders as the sun wakes you up very early!

To begin, the view from the lanai' is beautiful. It directly overlooks the rocky beach (sometimes sandy beach dependent on the tide) where we watched numerous sea turtles and the occasional whale spout not too far from shore. The sunsets over Lanai' were stunning.
Now on the the bad - The parking spaces are ridiculously small. If you park where the driver can exit the vehicle, the passenger can't open the door. Thus necessitating the passenger get out IN THE RAIN before parking. The unit itself is dated and in need of a renovation. Especially the bathroom and shower. There is massive amounts of black mold growing in the grout and I would hate to see what's behind the shower tiles as it is clear that water has been leaching into the walls for a LONG time. As far as amenities and kitchen equipment, the unit is pretty sparse.
Location was pretty good, but not within walking distance of anything.

The vacation rental experience was great, as usual, except for one thing :
- The floor was really dirty.

We wouldn't usually care for that, but we have a little baby of 9 months travelling with us. Also, we rented another unit the week after (501) and that one was perfectly clean.

Great Condo in Lahaina/Kanaapali area! Close to everything! Super clean, well maintained property! We had the most incredible view of the little beach and water right from our condo!

All was great! If you need A/C in the living room this condo does not have it. The Bedroom has a very nice A/C unit and it was nice and cool at night for sleep.

We loved our stay and definitely would stay again!

We loved our stay here! It is small and perfect for two people. It is right on the beach and we saw sea turtles every day. Such an amazing experience. The apartment was clean and had everything that we need. Staying here was a dream. It was an end unit with no one on top of us. We never heard the person below or next to us. Would 100% book this unit again.
